Travel, Grief & Gratitude

Over the last year, I have had the good fortune to travel the globe. 

I have been to 

The UK
Switzerland
Germany
Peru
Columbia
Bolivia
Tunisia
Morocco
Abu Dhabi

I’m sure I’m missing some places, but the point is this: when you’ve suffered a devastating loss, the grief and pain follow you everywhere. 

YOU. 
CAN’T.
RUN. 

No matter where you are, the pain is always there -- lurking around.
In the clouds.
Around the next corner.
Behind the palm tree.
Beyond that mountain.
Under your beach towel.
On the horizon.
In your morning latte.

Lurking. When will it hit? 

You never know. But, what you DO know, is that it WILL hit, and it will take you D - O - W - N. 

The pain. The uneasiness. The gaping hole in your heart will always be open with no possible way to fill it.

Why am I telling you this? 
Because, my Lovelies, while I want you to honor all of your emotions: the pain and the elation equally, we only get this one life (I think). *If you know of something different, please let me know. 

Since we have this one life, we should choose to live it to the fullest, and if you are fortunate like I am (or a good planner) travel can be an extraordinary and a fun part of your life.

Explore.
Connect.
Learn.

As I said, I’ve been so fortunate to have been able to explore, connect and learn over the last year or so. I’ve spent lots of time on my own, in airports, on trains and planes, and in hotel rooms around the globe. I’ve laughed. I’ve cried. I’ve lived. I’ve learned. 

I’ve learned so much about myself and the resilience that seems to have been programmed into my DNA. (another thing for which I am grateful)

Along with traveling, connecting, learning and exploring, I have been on a mission to spread SO MUCH CONNER BOVEE LOVE across the globe. *some of you know the stories about my leaving So Much Conner Bovee Love guitar picks around the globe and messages in a bottle in some places. 

My Darlings, we only get to have this one life, so L - I - V - E.
